Power Calligraphy |
Have you ever tried Japanese calligraphy? It requires grace, finesse, and a surprising amount of upper-body strength. |
Rhythm Heaven Megamix |
Power Calligraphy (リズムお習字?, Rhythm o Shuji) (known as りずむおしゅうじ in the GBA, Arcade and in the Japanese Wii versions) is the 3rd Rhythm Game of Stage 4 (21st overall) in Rhythm Tengoku, the 3rd Extra Game unlocked with 41 Medals in Rhythm Heaven Fever and the 1st of Songbird Land (23rd overall) in Rhythm Heaven Megamix.
Gameplay[]
The player controls a giant hand writing calligraphy with a surprising amount of strength. The giant hand writes automatically, while the player presses Ⓐ or taps to finish the characters with a powerful stroke when the hand reaches enough power. There are six different symbols to write:
- レ (Re?)
- 、 (a Japanese comma?)
- 力 (chikara?, power)
- 己 (onore?, oneself)
- 寸 (sun?, a Japanese kind of measurement)
- 心 (kokoro?, heart)
- the characters つるニハ○○ムし (tsurunihamarumushi?) arranged to form a face.
Near the end, the game goes faster and people come out dancing.
Controls[]
- Ⓐ/Tap: Write (with power)
Timing Display[]
- Perfect!/Ace!: The symbol is successfully written.
- Early!/Late!: If early, the line turns out squiggled. If late, a messy spot of ink is made. Either way, a sigh is let out. The Mini Chounin stumble over. In Rhythm Tengoku, a "doink" sound is heard when this happens, but not in Rhythm Heaven Fever or Rhythm Heaven Megamix.
- Miss...: If missed completely, no marks are made, letting out a sigh. The Mini Chounin stumble over.

Rhythm o Shuji 2P (リズムお習字 2P?, Rhythm O Shuji 2P) is the 2nd Rhythm Game of Stage 3 (10th overall) in the 2P mode of Rhythm Tengoku (Arcade).
It plays the same as the 1P version, except it has a split screen display to accommodate the second player. As a consequence of this design, there is only one column of dancers per screen, and they walk over the paper.
