The Nintendo 3DS is the successor to the Nintendo DS produced by Nintendo. The console's primary features are the brand new Circle Pad, providing 3D movement in games, and the 3D visual screen, which displays auto-stereoscopic images to create the illusion of depth without the need for glasses.

Rereleases of the system have been the 2DS, which removes the 3D function from the 3DS, the New 3DS, which adds Amiibo functionality, more power, a C stick, and a stable 3D mode, and the 3DS XL, which is a slightly bigger version of the original.
