Blue Birds 2 |
How can the captain be so foul tempered with such an upbeat song? Stay focused! (And no practice for you!) |
Rhythm Heaven |
Blue Birds 2 (ブルーバーズ2?, Burūbāzu 2) is the 3rd Rhythm Game of the eight stage (38th overall) in Rhythm Heaven.
The long version, Blue Birds, appears in the second stage in Rhythm Heaven and Songbird Land in Rhythm Heaven Megamix.
Gameplay[]
The gameplay is identical to before, but the game is extended with increased tempo, requiring the player to peck beaks and stretch necks quickly. There are additionally a large number of overlapping cues, with Captain Blue Bird telling the Blue Birds to peck their beaks while they are already pecking. The Blue Birds now wear coonskin caps while Captain Blue Bird wears a parka, and the game takes place in a snowy campground.

Timing Display[]
- Perfect!/Ace!: The player pecks or stretches in sync with the others. While pecking, a hit spark with stars appears. After a stretch, the captain blushes while stretching out his own wings.
- Early!/Late!: The player pecks out of sync, causing less impressive hit sparks to fly out, a "doink" sound to be heard, and a sweat drop to form. While stretching, the player's neck gets a cramp. The captain gets angry and huffs.
- Miss...: The player either does nothing, or pecks when they're not supposed to, causing less impressive hit sparks to fly out, a "doink" sound to be heard, and a sweat drop to form. While stretching, they either do nothing or stretch when they're not supposed to. The captain gets angry and huffs.

- The Captain has a little bit higher-pitched voice in this game than he does in the first Blue Birds and its long version's Practice Session. This can also be heard in Remix 2, where his voice is lower-pitched. Its highest-pitched voice is used in Remix 8 and its more higher-pitched voice is used in Remix 10.
- Like in Blue Birds, the animation used when the player stretches too early or too late is altered in non-Japanese versions of Rhythm Heaven.
